Fourth-generation bass legend Tom Walley has worked on some of the most familiar soundtracks of recent years (The Hobbit, Downton Abbey, 1917 to name a few). His love of music across all genres makes him a go-to collaborator for creatives across the industry. Tom is a busy guy, usually touring the world as a bassist with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, or gigging with Pandora's Jukebox, but when he's at home he's most happy discovering good music and developing it in his studio. See Tom's instagram account for some bass inspiration.
Sophie is a cellist of many talents. We are particularly in love with her silky tone and soulful interpretations. She is also making waves in the movement to make music accessible to all corners of the world. As part of the Global Leaders Program, she started the SoundTrek Songbook, a quest to record a piece from every country in the world on her cello. When she’s not working in West End shows like Les Mis or orchestras like the BBC Symphony Orchestra, she can be found recording solo cello as heard on the BBC and Universal Publishing Production Music.
Co-founder of Everthorpe Sounds, Helena is most happy when making music and finding amazing people to play with. Her mission to tug at your heartstrings means that she is often glued to her violin trying to find the right sound and soul for the music. When she’s not playing operas at Glyndebourne or on stage with the London Philharmonic Orchestra or English Chamber Orchestra, she likes to spend time producing music in her studio. As a recording artist, she has played on major film scores such as The Hobbit and Iron Man 3. With a team of exceptional colleagues all geared up to work with you, she’d be delighted to help you find the right string sound for your track.
Harry is the Principal Flautist of the English Chamber Orchestra, one of the most recorded orchestras in the world. His versatility and beautiful sound puts him among the most desirable session musicians in the industry. Harry also guests as principal flute for the London Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. He has performed and recorded with great artists including Joshua Bell and José Carreras as well as the Pet Shop Boys, Rufus Wainwright and Rod Stewart.
“He's my go-to brass guy. A genuine talent” - we’d certainly agree with TV composer Paul Farrer and as Sam’s magical tone hits your ear, making your track sing, you’ll be blown away too. Sam’s been heard all over film and TV as a solo trumpeter and flugelhorn player, for example on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on BBC 1 and First Dates on Channel 4. When he’s not in his studio, he’s on stage with many UK orchestras or amazing artists like Alfie Boe, Clean Bandit and Myles Sanko. See his website for more inspiration.
Tom has written the book on playing the guitar. Literally, he’s written loads of them. But more than that, he’s one of the most open-minded, versatile musicians around. When he’s not rocking out on stage or playing in his jazz trio, Tom can be found working hard in his top range studio, making as much new music happen as possible. Tom’s endless list of talents make him an outstanding collaborator across all genres and a joy to work with. Check out his website for a sample of his skills.
Johnny Herford
Composition/Vocals
Johnny had the idea for Everthorpe Sounds while he was touring and performing in opera houses around the world such as Opera Philadelphia, English National Opera and Opera di Roma. Carrying around his laptop and thinking that he needed some live stems on his music, he was inspired by the amazing vocal and instrumental collegues he was surrounded by and felt that there could be a more convenient and eco-friendly way to collaborate with them than travelling to studios in different countries. As a composer and arranger, Johnny is always keen to help colleagues develop full scores out of raw material. He can prepare parts for big studio sessions and transcribe from midi. Johnny has been a session singer for films like How to Train Your Dragon and The Chronicles of Narnia and for Adele’s “Skyfall” and sample libraries for Hans Zimmer.
